The Persian version of Luminous Journey was shown in two parts at the recent Grand Canyon conference in Phoenix--and I went to attend the conference. Our photo image was the only image appearing in the conference program.
We did two screenings at the dinner hour, 5-6 pm, and surprisingly, a number of people attended. I also helped with Jon Rezin's 9 Star Media booth; we sold a number of DVDs. Best of all, I got re-inspired to work on the European story--particularly as two women we met from Germany said they would help us! Lisa Bradley, in photos below, helped me on the second day of the screening.
Today, Tim & I presented stories and footage of the making of Luminous Journey to the youth at the Plano Baha'i School. That was a blessing, with confirmations. Wish we would have more opportunities to present. . . .

Our second screening of the Persian-language version of Luminous Journey occurred this afternoon at the Friends of Persian Culture conference in the Chicago area. Probably 200 people or so came in to see the film; we were able to show 1:15 min. of it, and then announce its DVD availability in the bookstore.
One woman from Dubai bought 2 copies, and a number of people from Australia did as well. Somehow, it is very touching to me that the film will go out to these places. Here I am, introducing the film.
And here is Jon Rezin and I at his 9 Star Media Booth. . . . He has multiple arms in the panoramic shot!

Persian Version of Luminous Journey in Production!
Finally, after more than two full years of work, our Persian version of Luminous Journey is being replicated. It has been a hard and incredible project, involving lots of help and support. Now 2 hours (instead of 2.5 hours), it is a work that reflects the Persian spoken in Iran today, with narrative voices all re-recorded. . . .

Evaluation of Luminous Journey, by a film student
One of my students at the Art Institute borrowed a copy of the film. She filled out a film sheet in response; I will put her answers below!
Sound: the soundtrack is excellent, with perfect variations to lead the narration and different transitions very well done.
Lighting: there are some brighter scenes outdoors that are difficult to control but almost perfect with indoor scenes.
Editing: the editing is done well between photographs and live images and special effects.
Time sequence: the sequence is set perfectly by 'Abdu'l-Baha himself.
Cinematography: good. Very rich colors especially with the scenic sequences.
Costumes: excellent perfect period costumes and props.
Other: It is clear the amount of work and time that was contributed.
It relates to my religious beliefs. Although raised as a Christian, I have always believed the way he influenced people to be, that all religions should be at peace with each other.
The film was very effective. I cannot believe that his history is not more prominent to be learned in the United States. I learned a great deal. I even watched some with my boyfriend, who was raised Catholic, and he was very interested and impressed by the way he was.
I think this is an extremely important history that needs to be shared throughout the world, especially here in the U.S. He seemed to be a true prophet by the way he influenced so many people so positively. I would love to share this with family and friends because it applies to all of us--not one religion or race but humanity. I think this should be seen in churches of all types and in classes on religion.
(How's that for focus testing? I gave her the copy of the film to keep, so she can keep sharing it!)
